* What type of diploma will I receive?  You will receive a regular education diploma certified by the State of TN. There will be a graduation ceremony during the CMCSS graduation allocated dates in May.

* Can I participate in activities at my former school?  No, students enrolled at CMCSS AHS are fully withdrawn from their former school.

* Am I too old to return to school?  No, anyone 17 years of age and older may enroll into CMCSS AHS.

* Approximately how long will it take me to complete my credits?  Credit completion is based upon each student’s needs and independent work pace.

* Are the classes like regular school?  CMCSS AHS provides a supportive work environment where each student works towards goals based on their personalized academic plan. AHS offers teacher support for computer based learning. Students will work at an accelerated pace to achieve their graduation goal.

* Is there a dress code at CMCSS AHS?  Yes, students must adhere to the dress code rules based on CMCSS’ guidelines (no excessive sagging, cover up cleavage, no cut off shorts, etc.).

* What other policies are in place at CMCSS AHS?  CMCSS AHS follows CMCSS district rules and policies. There is a Zero-tolerance policy on drugs, alcohol, weapons, and aggravated assault of a student or faculty member. Students found under the influence will be dismissed from CMCSS AHS and must sit out one calendar year before being considered for re-enrollment.

* What happens if I am unable to attend class?  CMCSS AHS is not designed as a long-term program. After 10 unexcused absences students will be dismissed, and they must sit out until the following semester or one calendar year before being considered for re-enrollment. Each student will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

* Are visitors allowed in the school? Visitors will not be permitted to visit during the school day.

* Can I smoke on my break?  Students cannot smoke on CMCSS property; this includes e-cigarettes. If you are caught with tobacco products, you will be dismissed from CMCSS AHS.

* What is your cell phone policy?  Cell phones will be collected upon arrival at AHS and returned when students leave. This will allow students to focus on their work and accomplish their graduation goal.

* How do I report lost or stolen items? Students should report lost or stolen items to the school administration. However, students are responsible for any personal items brought to school. Students who do bring such items to school do so at their own risk.

* After graduation, I want to attend a college or tech school, is this possible?  Yes, students will be informed of opportunities like TN Promise and Reconnect to help them prepare for post-secondary options.
